Intéressant mais l'eau était douteuse

L'eau était remplie de petites particules qui flottent comme de la peau desquamee ... bizarre et ça donne pas envie. A voir si c'est nettoyé régulièrement et hygiénique vu le nombre de touristes...

From Polynesian Spa Rotorua - Pavilion Pools

Thanks for your review. Our mineral pools are emptied every single night, every pool (27 of them) except for one pool which is chlorinated in the family pool area. The mineral particles in the water are from the ground. It is geothermal water and has suspended minerals in it, this is not skin, There are signs all around the complex to explain this. The acidic Priest spring often has suspended sulphates which are visible, whereas the alkaline spring water can appear milky depending on weather and atmospheric conditions. If you looked over the fence at the old preserved historic pools when you visited you would have seen the geothermal water bubbling up from the ground and it looks exactly like the water in the pools. During the day, the pools are refilled due to water overflowing the sides from people entering and new fresh mineral water being added to keep to advertised temperatures. This is checked with sophisticated equipment and backed up by manual procedure. Please be assured our complex is hygienically cleaned regularly to keep it safe for all our valued guests.

Winter Treat - We All Need To Slow Down!

Our group of 5 out-of-town residents arrived 10.30 am on a Saturday in late May 2023. The reception guy was welcoming with fuss-free entry, showing our voucher email via phone. Communal changing space was clean, with a few private cubicles. There were about 4 communal showers plus a private one for disabled folk. Plentiful plastic containers for clothing were housed on open shelves near the main undercover pool & we used one locker between us for valuables. We spent 3 glorious hours moving through the series of outdoor pools which range by temperature and acidity/alkalinity. We loved soaking up their healing powers whilst having a great catchup, fabulous for the soul, especially lounging in the ones that face out across the lake. Dry weather was a bonus but there's always the indoor pool if it's wet or miserable. Our visit was mostly very quiet, getting busier towards lunchtime. We opted not to shower afterwards to maximise the minerals. On the way out/in, there's a gorgeous shopping space, café & yummy gelato counter. Overall, this was a fantastic experience which we hadn't had for many years. It's on the Do-It-Again list for the next Rotovegas visit. Tips: Parking - No time limit in the venue's dedicated section, but it fills up later in the day. Mostly 180-minute parking outside of that, which should be enough. Paid locker - One-time use so you'll need to pay again if you go back. Bring - Water bottle, refilling at the water fountains dotted around. Spare towel to take around with you. Jandals for a more pleasant experience when walking around (cold, wet matting doesn't work for me). Hair/face mask to pop on while you're soaking, being careful not to contaminate the waters. Cold shower - There's one tucked beside a pool. Spurts in odd directions so you'll get wet hair.

Relaxing hot pools

Great place. Specific areas for adults, family + kids etc. Provate rooms facing the lake. Many choices of pools in the adult area. Temperatures tend to be high but you can find something less hot. Beautiful views.
